John CHEKYN d.1536

Biographical Note

Of Durham. Fellow of Pembroke College, Cambridge 1519, BA 1521, MA 1524, BD 1531.

Books

Chekyn's probate inventory includes 85 titles, in 94 volumes, valued at £9 2s (from a total estate valued at ca.£26). The books are almost entirely Latin theology, with a small number of classical and other subjects; a number of reforming authors are included, such as Luther, Melanchthon and Zwingli. The full inventory is edited as Leedham-Green no.1 (see full citation below).
