David CARNEGIE 4th Earl of Northesk 1675-1729
Biographical Note
He was born at Ethie, the eldest son of David Carnegie, 3rd Earl of Northesk, whom he succeeded in 1688. He sat in the Scottish Parliament from 1698 and in 1702 was made a Privy Councillor and Sheriff-Principal of Forfarshire. He was elected a Representative Peer for Scotland from 1708.
