Biographical Note
Born at Peterborough, son of Richard Cumberland, Bishop of Peterborough. BA Magdalene College, Cambridge 1698, MA 1701. Rector of Peakirk, Northamptonshire 1703, of Elton, Huntingdonshire 1723; prebendary of Peterborough 1699, of Lincoln 1727; archdeacon of Northampton 1707.
Books
Cumberland used an engraved armorial bookplate (Franks 7548); the extent and disposition of his library is not known.
