He studied at [[education::King's College, Cambridge]], receiving his BA in 1571 and MA in 1574 after having already being admitted a [[occupation::fellow]] in 1569. Anton was admitted to [[organisations::Lincoln's Inn]] in 1575, and was called to the [[occupation::lawyer|bar]]. He became [[occupation::Recorder]] of [[location::Lincoln]] in 1587, and served as [[occupation::MP]] for [[location::Lincoln]] 1588 1589, 1592 1593 and 1601.

Biographical Note

Son of Thomas Anton (d.1559) of Strathfieldsaye. Fellow of King's College, Cambridge 1569, BA 1571, MA 1574. He was admitted to Lincoln's Inn in 1575, and was called to the bar. He became Recorder of Lincoln in 1587 and MP for Lincoln 1589, 1593, 1597 and 1601.

Books

Anton gave manuscripts to Lincoln’s Inn; books survive with his armorial stamp.
