William HEYSHAM 1691-1727
Biographical Note
Son of William Heysham of Lancaster, MP and Barbados merchant. Matriculated at Christ Church, Oxford 1709, but did not graduate; admitted at the Middle Temple 1709. MP for Lancaster, 1716-27; he acquired an estate at East Greenwich, Kent.
Books
Heysham used an engraved armorial bookplate (Franks 14660). The extent of his library is not known; in his will, he left his books to his friend John Marshall (having only a daughter and no male heir).
