====Biographical Note====
Born in [[place of birth::London]], son of [[family::Thomas Boughton]] of [[location::Kingscliffe, Northamptonshire]], gentleman. BA [[education::St John's College, Cambridge]] 1689, MA and [[occupation::fellow of St John's College, Cambridge|fellow]] 1692, BD 1700; [[occupation::rector]] of [[location::Barrow, Suffolk]] 1714-28.

Boughton used an engraved armorial bookplate, dated 1711, on which he described himself as "second Bro. to Mr. Tho. Boughton of Kings-Cliffe in Northamptonshire and Fellow of St. Johns Coll. in Camb., STB" (Franks 3165). The extent and disposition of his library are not known.
