====Biographical Note====
Known only as a [[occupation::vintner]] living at the time of his death in the parish of St Margaret's, [[location::Westminster]]. His will refers to his brother [[family::Charles Dodd|Charles]] and wife [[family::Sarah Dodd|Sarah]]. The [[organisations::Honourable Artillery Company]] archives have a list of "Captain William Alexander Dodd's Company of the White Regiment, City of London trained bands", of 1773-4, who is presumably the same man.

====Books====
Dodd used an engraved armorial bookplate (Franks 8801). The extent of his library is not known; his brief will has no mention of books, which would have passed, with the rest of his estate, to his wife Sarah.
