====Biographical Note====
Younger son of [[family::Matthew Fetherstonhaugh]] of [[location::London]], but also [[occupation::mayor]] of [[location::Newcastle]]. BA [[education::Trinity College, Oxford]] 1739, MA [[education::St John's College, Cambridge]] 1747. [[occupation::rector|Rector]] of [[location::Oxted, Surrey]] 1746, of [[location::Stanford-le-Hope, Essex]] 1747, of [[location::Harting, Sussex]] 1757. He acted as tutor to his nephew, Sir [[family::Harry Fetherstonhaugh]] on a Grand Tour of Europe. A portrait of Fetherstonhaugh, dressed as Apollo, hangs at Uppark House, Sussex.

====Books====
Fetherstonhaugh used an engraved armorial bookplate (Franks 10440/10441), using the name Fetherston. The extent and disposition of his library are not known.
