Born at [[place of birth::Blewbury, Berkshire]], son of [[family::William Anstey]]. BA [[education::St John's College, Cambridge]] 1700, [[occupation::fellow of St John's College, Cambridge|fellow]] 1701]], MA 1703, BD 1710, DD 1715. [[occupation::vicar|Vicar]] of [[location::Lawford, Essex]] 1702, [[occupation::rector]] of [[location::Brinckley, Cambridgeshire]] 1715; he lived at [[location::Anstey Hall]] at [[location::Trumpington]], just outside [[location::Cambridge]]. 

====Books====
Anstey used an engraved armorial bookplate (Franks 604). The extent of his library is unknown; in his will, he left "my library of books and collection of medals" to his son [[family::Charistopher Anstey 1724-1805|Christopher]].
