James WATERS d.1725

Biographical Note

Alston suggests that Waters was rector of Westley Waterless, Cambridgeshire, but this may be mistaking him for Francis Water (CCEd). It seems more likely that Waters is the clerk of Uxbridge who died in 1725.

Books

Waters' books were sold by retail sale, alongside those of an unidentified Dr Clark, in London from 26 April 1726. Advertisements in the Daily Post describe the sale as 'a catalogue of very valuable and curious books, being the libraries of the late Rev. Mr. James Water and Dr. Clark; consisting of history, divinity, law, physick, anatomy, voyages, travels, poetry...".
